SENSORY EXPLORATION CLASSES
We are offering sensory exploration classes every Tuesday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
This 30-minutes class is for 12 months and up.
What is sensory exploration?
A sensory exploration class is a structured environment where toddlers engage in activities designed to stimulate their five senses—touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste. These classes provide hands-on experiences that help children explore different textures, sounds, shapes, colors, and smells, often through play. Examples of activities might include playing with textured materials like sand or water, exploring sounds through musical instruments, and interacting with colorful visual objects.
What are the benefits of sensory exploration?
Cognitive Development:
Sensory play helps toddlers make sense of the world around them, laying the
foundation for important cognitive skills like problem-solving,
decision-making, and cause-and-effect understanding.
Motor Skills:
Through activities like scooping, pouring, and manipulating small objects, toddlers
develop their fine and gross motor skills, enhancing coordination
and physical development.
Language Development:
Sensory play encourages toddlers to describe their experiences, helping to
expand their vocabulary and communication skills.
Social Interaction:
In a group setting, toddlers learn to interact with peers, share, take turns,
and collaborate on activities, promoting early socialization.
Emotional Regulation:
Sensory activities can help toddlers manage their emotions by providing calming
or stimulating experiences, allowing them to learn self-regulation.
